Cookie policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your preferences and help me understand how it's used.

This site is operated from the UK. Cookie use here is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

2. What this site uses

Essential cookies

Required for the site to work. These do not require your consent under PECR.

  • kiara-consent, remembers your cookie choices (per category) so you're not asked again. Lifetime: 180 days.
  • kiara_attribution_v1, session-only marker that records how you arrived (UTM tags, referrer). Cleared when you close the browser. Used to know which channels bring in applications.

Analytics cookies

Only loaded if you allow analytics in the cookie banner (via “Accept all” or the analytics toggle). Used to understand which pages are visited and what content is useful. Aggregate, not identifying.

This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, with Google Consent Mode v2. Until you consent, no analytics cookies are set. If you consent, Google sets:

  • _ga, distinguishes visitors. Lifetime: 2 years.
  • _ga_*, keeps session state per property. Lifetime: 2 years.

See Google's privacy policy for how Google processes this data.

Marketing cookies

No marketing pixels are currently in use. The cookie banner still gives you a separate marketing toggle, so if pixels (e.g. Meta Pixel, Google Ads) are ever added they stay off unless you've allowed them, and they'll be listed here first.

3. Managing your choice

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer, it re-opens the banner with per-category toggles. Withdrawing analytics consent also removes the Google Analytics cookies this site set.

Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely:
